Update #2

The updates just keep coming!

Welcome to another update of Samsara RPG. Please read up on the change-log below to see what has been updated.

Added

  • Enemies (Shinies with boosted stats also make an appearance)
    • There are only single monster appearances for now.
  • Some plugins for better UI and game-play experience (You may or may not notice these)
  • Warning and Direction signs in over-world

Changed

  • Elder house decorations
  • Water behind Item shop takes more space
  • Reid's stats have been altered.

Removed

  • Followers no longer appear. It's only you...

Additional Dev Notes

This update hit a few snags along the way. I couldn't get the basic attack to do ANY damage. i realised the damage formula was weird and needed to be adjusted. With this being said, I need to either adjust enemy stats or Reid's stats later on as damage is very high and very fast. Enemy Levels will be making an appearance on a later update, so there might need to be another re-balance when that happens.

Initially, I had single, double and triple monster appearances for both the regular and shiny monsters. But I also realised you can get overwhelmed really quickly. Last minute, i changed to to only singles since it would fare better, especially in the beginning. Also makes balancing easier, for now.

I know the selector the enemies shows up with the color code for (Shiny). I will attempt to fix this later, but I might just use a Emoticon instead to signify the shiny status. This is all just a first attempt at things and can/will be changed later on.

The shines where a spur of the moment type thing. I wanted to make stronger enemies but at a very rare appearance rate, so I took Pokemon's idea and added a boost to the stats to make them worthwhile. They might be too strong. I'll probably nerf them later along with a monster/character balance. 

Followers will be coming later. Its part of the story I want to tell. They also help with defeating enemies so might be a bit too OP for the beginning of the game...

I will also introduce magic to Reid and enemies later on. A better initial story and maybe better gear and more items. All of this before the next area opens (Kingdom of Valora) and possibly more.

I am starting to get motivation back but I get tired fast. Perks of getting old I guess. Oh well. Stay tuned for more updates later. Night!
